Weston/Fairview Bridge re-opening has been postponed.

The County had planned to reopen the bridge today following completion of the primary structural work. The contractor informed the Commissioners that the bridge was expected to be drivable, with some remaining items to be completed after opening.

However, when the State Bridge Inspector reviewed the construction, he did not approve opening the bridge at this time. The inspector requires that all work be fully completed before the bridge can be opened to traffic, including partial or limited use.

It is unknown at this time of how long it will take the contractor to do the remaining work, weather permitting. The bridge will remain closed until the State issues final approval to ensure public safety.
