Franklin County voters approved a $2.9 million dollar bond that funds the extensive remodel and addition to the courthouse. Property owners will see an increase of $14.50 for every $100,000.00 of taxable property value each year. Construction started in 2022 and will take an estimated 2 years to complete both the new addition, and the remodel of the existing structure.

On November 1st, 1939 a Grand Opening Celebration was held for the Franklin County Courthouse. This was a monumental achievement at the end of the Great Depression. This remarkable building has served our community well and is a symbol of how great Franklin County is and the people who live here. To ensure this building will last another 80 years to serve the public, upgrades and improvements are needed to help maintain the structure, improve ADA accessibility and resolve public safety issues.
